Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 420 in Charles Town, WV!
About Us
Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 420, where we are dedicated to nurturing leaders through scouting and promoting personal growth, teamwork, and community involvement. Our experienced leaders provide a safe and enriching environment for scouts to learn valuable skills, build friendships, and appreciate the outdoors.
Cub Scouts is open to both girls and boys; even more youth will have access to the awesome character development and values-based leadership opportunities that Scouting provides. Cub Scouting is more than an activity. It is adventure, learning, and discovery around every corner.
Cub Scouts is a year-round program offering fun activities that promote character and leadership development. Parents are encouraged to play an active role in our programs. Whole families can now participate in Cub Scouts. Pack 923 offers programs for boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Cub Scouts embraces the outdoors through camping, hiking and water fun. We also focus on helping our communities through service projects, STEM development, and building confident kids through a wide range of activities. Our Cub Scout program is designed to develop physical (well-tuned and healthy), mental (able to think and solve problems) and emotional (self-control, courage, empathy and respect for self and others) fitness.
Meetings
At Cub Scout Pack 420, we offer hiking trips, community service projects, and skill development workshops for boys and girls from kindergarten through fifth grade. Our meetings are held weekly at South Jefferson Elementary School on Monday evenings.
Pack Meeting
The Cub Scout pack is made up of all the dens, which meet at the beginning of our scheduled den meetings, led by the Cubmaster and Assistant Cub Master. The meeting includes our opening ceremony of reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, Scout Oath and Scout Law. This is where families and Scouts will hear about upcoming events and requirements for the Pack. Pack Meetings are held Mondays at 6:30pm at South Jefferson Elementary School, 4599 Summit Point Rd. Charles Town WV 25414.
Our pack's program year follows the school year, beginning in September and ending in May. We do hold one event or activity a month during the summer for those scouts who would like to participate. These events are not mandatory and will not impact advancement if the scout's family has other summertime plans.
Den Meetings
Den meetings are held every Monday under the direction of a Den Leader who plans activities to help the cubs through their Adventures, and the goal of completing their rank requirements and electives. Den meetings are usually held at South Jefferson Elementary School, 4599 Summit Point Rd. Charles Town WV 25414 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Dens are led by volunteers, usually parents of the children in that den. There are many ways you can help the Pack/Den. The Pack is led by a Cubmaster who makes sure the programs are being followed, and everyone is having fun. The Pack is overseen by a Chartered Organization. Shenandoah Are Council, is Pack 420’s-chartered organization.

We also hold many other activities throughout the year to make sure we have as much fun as possible!
